Graham Henry, Wayne Smith and Steve Hansen

I've had a bit more interest in my World Cup caricatures. The New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts are interested in showing some of my work and would like me to do a few workshops when the games kick off. Showed my first bunch of sketches at Betty's http://www.bettys.net.nz/ last weekend whilst the Sevens were on. And now I've got a meeting with a dude from a printing firm who specialise in calendars, cards and posters. More on that in my next post, for now I've colourised Graham Henry and his henchmen.

Wellington Sevens caricatures

Here's my latest bunch of egg chasers. Some of these hulks could be on display at Bettys award-winning Function House & Bar in Wellington this weekend.

Check it out if you're in town. Or if you're over the Rimutaka's I'll be plying my trade at the Martinborough Fair from sparrow's fart until about 3pm.

Finally! And some quicker sketches that I'm putting together for a potential exhibition during the Wellington Sevens in early February.

Sonny Bill Williams colour caricature, nearly done!

I've been itching to colour-in my SBW sketch and the holidays are providing that opportunity, at least in between Lego, playing Littlest Pet Shop and building Thomas Train sets! I've been struggling with the forest of arms attempting to wrestle him to the ground, I might throw a few more in for good measure. Another challenge has been his tattoo, but now I've started to add colour it's starting to look mean and menacing.

Also had time to do a quick sketch of a horizontal Jo Rokockocookoco!

Check my other blog next week with more from my back catalogue:

Colin Meads and Jonah Lomu pencil sketches

Again, not much time for rugby caricatures this week. I've had a real rush on commisions in the run in to chrimbo. So a dip into the archives for some old school pencil sketches. All All Blacks, spot the stray Aussie!
